Vow Renewal

For my parent's 25th wedding anniversary they decided to renew their vows. So this past weekend we headed up to Steamboat Springs to celebrate. I wasn't their "official" photographer, but I did take a lot of candid pics! (OK...So I always take a lot of pics!)  It was a beautiful ceremony held at the Steamboat Grand Hotel. Their vows were so heartfelt that I think everyone cried at some point. Their marriage is a true inspiration to us all. I thank the Lord that they found each other and I pray they have many more years to enjoy life together! I have a TON of pics from that day but here's few of my favorites...

Listening to Mel give a speech
Saying their vows
Love was in the air!
I love you both so much. You mean the world to me and I am honored to be your daughter, to know you both and to have the chance to share my life with you. Words cannot express my "Thanks" to you for all that you do for our family. I pray you love each other more and more each day!

Family Portraits

A couple weekends ago we headed up to Boulder with a bunch of family (not all of my family, just my sisters and their immediate families) and took some portraits for a 25th wedding anniversary present for our mom & dad (a.k.a. Snork & Connie) It was about a BILLION degrees that day and besides our faces nearly melting off...it all went well. AND...we managed to keep it a secret until the big day!

Here's the whole gang....
The Burroughs (us)....
My sister Mel with Taco & Butter Girl.... (lol)
My sister Katie and her clan....
My sister Kerrie with her cutie's....
And last but not least...the sisers! (and yes, I spelled it without a "T" on purpose)....
I am truly blessed to have these beautiful women in my life! I love my sisers!

Rainbow Cloud

We just spent the most amazing weekend up in Steamboat Springs celebrating my parents 25th wedding anniversary. (I will post some pics of that soon) But on the way home I saw one of the most incredible things I have ever seen in my life! We had just passed through the Eisenhower tunnel and as we were coming through Loveland we looked up in the sky to see this oddly swirled cloud. It was like it had been dry brushed in the sky and it was filled with rainbow colors. No actual arch of a rainbow anywhere in sight...just this one swirling cloud filled with radiant rainbow colors. We all just stared at in in awe. I finally thought, "Holy cow, I need a picture of this!" The only thing close to me was my iPhone so I tried getting a pic as quick as I could. Unfortunately, we passed most of it by the time my camera was ready to click but you can still see the tips of it over the mountain as we passed. It was truly remarkable and probably one of THE coolest things I have ever seen in the sky in my entire life!

God, your creation is amazing!

Kiddy pool

OK....so we finally broke down and got a pool...a suped-up kiddy pool...maybe slightly ghetto...but a pool none-the-less! It all came about last week when Scott was mowing the lawn in 103 degree weather and he got so hot that he thought he was going to combust! As soon as he finished he said, "That's it...I'm gonna get us a pool!"

This was also combined with the fact that our kids need to learn how to swim! Titus is like a little fish in the water. He has absolutely no fear. But Max on the other hand is slllooowwwlllyyy getting used to it. We actually attempted swim lessons and Max just spent the entire time on the side of the pool screaming and crying...major FAIL! So I decided to teach them myself. Having a place for him to get comfortable in the water at home has totally helped him. And having access to an awesome pool at my aunt Kathleen's house has been a huge help also...thanks Kathleen!

As you can see, the summer rumpus is in full swing!

Dream Car

I GOT MY DREAM CAR!!!!! I can't even believe it! Last year I surprised Scott with his dream car, a 1967 Volkswagen Bus, and now...we just got mine: a 1984 Porsche 911 Targa Carrera! I have wanted one of these since I was 6 years old. Growing up, my dads best friend had a 1970 Targa 911E and from the first time I rode in it, I wanted one of my own. What can I say, I just love cars!

I'm always randomly scoping out various websites for my dream Porsche and a few weeks ago I ran across this one. It was everything I wanted and in fantastic condition. It was actually at a dealer so we went down to check it out and take it for a test drive. Once we drove it, both Scott and I were sold!
Some people may say it looks like we're going through a "mid-life crisis" but I would call it more like just "fulfilling a life-long dream!"  Our garage is now the quintessential picture of "Scott & Chrysti."
It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up!

Near Death Experience

Praise God, Scott is alive! I say this because he got hit by a minivan while riding his bike the other day and actually lived to tell about it! He was riding down the sidewalk in our neighborhood when he came to an intersection. He stopped, looked and it was clear to go, so he went. Then all of a sudden a car, or minivan to be exact, came barreling down the street and pulled way out into the crosswalk. She was completely in the wrong! At the last second they saw each other and began to screech to a stop. Scott's back tire came up off the ground and she turned into him. He was up on his front wheel still moving forward when his tire hit the front of her minivan and he went sailing over the hood of her car onto the pavement!

A neighbor, who saw the whole thing, came running from across the street asking if she needed to call 911 and then suddenly a cop car pulled up, who just randomly happened to be patrolling the neighborhood. (He didn't see the accident but got there just after.) The cop got out and asked Scott if he was OK and he was just laying on the ground saying, "Give me a minute." Scott said he was mentally doing a body check to see if he was alright. He landed on his elbow and his right side and to my amazement, he was OK!

Scott told the cop he didn't want to press charges and he sent him away. The neighbor left and it was just him and the lady that hit him standing there. Scott could see that she was pretty freaked out, as she was shaking uncontrollably, so he asked if he could pray for her. He prayed that God would be able to calm her down and show her His love and peace.

I don't know if I know many people who would send the cops away and pray for the lady that just hit him! I love you baby and I praise God that you're alive!

Universal Studios

Last but not least, we went to Universal Studio's...

We had spent most of the day at IOA but the kids REALLY wanted to ride JAWSAs we were waiting in line, a storm started to come in and they warned us that the ride might close down due to incoming inclement weather. Of course Max started to wig out a little...I don't blame him based on our previous experience at the the Magic Kingdom! (for more on that read my previous post called "The Magic Kingdom") but we assured him that everything would be OK.

Here the boys are on JAWS
Ron and Jace
Jaws coming at us
Jaws burnt to a crisp! The boys especially like the part where he dies!
All-in-all it was a great day. We ended up leaving right after JAWS because we didn't want to get stuck in another storm.
On the way out we got the boys some hats they had seen on the way in and REALLY wanted. Max got a shark hat...
And don't you just love Titus' Cat in The Hat, Hat?
Florida: We came, we saw, we conquered you! Until next time....

Islands of Adventure

On the last day of our trip we went to Universal with our good friends Ron and Lora. They were able to get two of us in for free so a BIG "Thank You" goes out to them! They have two boys, Drew and Jace, and our boys LOVE them to pieces. They were so excited to see each other again! Universal has two theme pars right next to each other. Islands of Adventure and the Studios. It's where I used to work so it brought back a lot of good memories for me...I just love IOA! It's my favorite theme park!

We started the day at IOA. We ran straight for Seuss Landing and did the Cat In The Hat ride amongst many others and then we headed over to Jurassic Park. One of the best areas in the park is Camp Jurassic where they have all these caves and rope obstacle courses suspended up in the air that run into tree houses. There's also water pop-up areas and water guns where you can fire at random tourists...it's fantastic! The kids had never been before and they had a BLAST! they could have spent all day in that one area!
We had a lot of fun at IOA in all the different lands , and tons of pictures...too many to post...but the boys were all chomping at the bit to get over to the Studios to ride JAWS so we headed there next....

Adam & Becky's Wedding

OK...so I don't actually have any pics of the wedding because I was IN the wedding. You know how that goes....when you're IN the wedding you can't take pictures! Bummer for me. I do have some funny one's from the rehearsal dinner and a couple from before the wedding started. Kinda lame I know, especially for me, but what can I say.

The happy couple!
Ashley and Ian
Ian is in a band called Blessed By A Broken Heart. Titus was totally enamored with him. He kept calling him "Rock Star Ian." Titus was also fascinated with the holes in Ian's ears. Here he is sticking his finger in the holes...
Ian and I
Ian, Jordan and I messin' around...
...and...here's a couple pre-wedding fuzzy iPhone pics...
We're so happy for Adam and Becky! They are a great couple and I know they'll have a long blessed marriage together. It was an honor to be in their wedding and for Adam to ask Scott to be his best man. We love you both so much!
